Soup Help

I need a recipe for a five-bean soup that is more spicy and exotic than the usual Southern/Midwest fare. No pork is better. Any ideas on how to do a curry bean soup?

Too late, I started soaking the beans last night. I'm going to do something along the lines of this:

Except that instead of dal, I'm going to use a five bean mixture. Do they make red curry powder, or do I have to use a paste?

A & A starts tomorrow at 6:30ish. Be there or be... some other place.

Hokay. I'll try.

Are you using Thai curry to make Dal? That's very....*urk*....inventive.

Actually, I don't have any idea what 'Dal' is. I just used beans instead of Dal in the recipe. It turned out not too bad, but that yellow curry powder is odd stuff to work with.
