The Battle of Baguashan (wiki). Not only did I not know about it, but I confess to never having seen Bagua Mountain, even though it is about a 45 minute drive from my house (23 minutes by mountain bike). There is also an Anti-Japanese Martyrs Memorial (not my translation) somewhere.

Yep, it's (one of the) big Buddha mountains. I'm going to check it out soon.
