Proselytizing

Since everyone else in the world seems determined to bring their faith to the hapless Taiwanese, ignoring the fact that the Taiwanese people already have their own religions and belief systems, I don't see why I should be any different. And this Saturday evening certainly should be an ideal opportunity to spread the faith. However, I'm running into some problems in translating the holy word:

fsmtr

Compounding my troubles is the fact that as far as I know, there is no Chinese word for "noodly". I don't think "mian4 tiao2 de" is going to cut it.

Just use "Q" since that will attract the Taiwanese to the religion anyways...if you pray to this creature, then your noodles will always be "Q Q de" Mmmmmmm.

BTW, these 'hapless' Taiwanese have no qualms blowing up firecrackers for their gods at 5:00 a.m., so I see no reason they should escape the fate of Jehovah's Witnesses.

Aaron, I'd like to introduce you to an esoteric and complicated concept, one that has apparently eluded you for all these years.

You see, when you rent a structure for the purpose of living there, at some point you will complete the obligations of your lease. At that time, you have the option to...

stay with me here...

try to understand this....

move to another place!

Here's how it works: What you will do, see, is find some other place to rent. For example, you might find a house that is... not near a temple! And then you can rent it, and move all your stuff there. And live there!

Let me know if yer still not clear on this and I'll explain further this weekend.

I'll be busy moving all week-end.

Do you want to help?

;)

Hey Karl,

Are you alluding to his noodly appendages? Have you been touched by The Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster? It was my little sister in Perth who turned me on to Him. She was going through a rough time, but she's feeling much better now.

Aaron, the other great thing about this 'moving' thing is that they have these entities called moving companies. You pay them some money, and they will carry all your stuff to your new residence!

Hey Aaron,

moving sucks. why should you have to uproot and subject your family to all that upheaval?

I say fuck 'em. dig in. hunker down. tough it out. wait 'em out. this is taiwan; they'll eventually go out of business and/or croak.

although i think moving is a terrible idea and would never recommend it to anyone (unless i wanted the property), i would help you move.

but unfortunately, i can't.

you see, coincidentally, i'm currently relocating my living quarters. this will be big move #30 (YAY!) in the greater Taichung metropolitan area.

(i need a life.)

I'm not actually moving. Last time I did it I did use a company which is a whole nother story. Is there any A & A this week-end are you too busy making your costumes?

A & A Tomorrow afternoon 3:30ish. Tim Edstein will be there to learn how to play. If you need some extra humiliation in your life, challenge him in Halo.
