What is claimed is:

1. A gizmo comprising:

a thingamabob comprising a widget;

a doodad rotatably received in the thingamabob, the doodad comprising an end adapted for dovetailing with a whatsit;

an adjusting dohickey mounted in the doodad; and

means for retaining the doodad mounted between the adjusting dohickey and the thingamabob;

wherein when a whirley wallop applied to the thingamabob is smaller than an dovetailing wallop between the thingamabob and said means for retaining the doodad, the doodad turns together with the thingamabob for fixing the whatsit;

wherein when the whirley wallop applied to the thingamabob is greater than the dovetailing wallop between the thingamabob and said means for retaining the doodad, the thingamabob slides relative to the doodad without turning the whatsit; and

wherein the adjusting dohickey is adjustable in position relative to the thingamabob to thereby change the dovetailing wallop between the thingamabob and said means for retaining the doodad.
