Desiccation

Lubbock, Texas has been mentioned prominently in several Ni Howdy posts of late, owing to the fact that our own beloved J-Hole hails from there, and currently is there. I don't know much about Lubbock, except what I read in that linked Wiki article. So I'm not sure if the behavior described in this article: Lubbock Texas, plans to pray for rain, is an aberration or S.O.P.

Quote:
"Nobody is going to tell God what to do and what not to do, but we are in a serious drought in West Texas and since he is the man who controls the rain clouds, we're asking him for his mercy and his help," Mayor David Miller told the Lubbock Avalanche-Journal.
If that does not work, I suggest that the Lubbockians pray to Tlaloc. After all, he was there first. We'll just hope that the Texas drought situation doesn't get as bad as it is in Australia:

Drought-stricken Australia considers drinking recycled sewage
Residents of a drought-stricken Australian town will vote this week on whether they're prepared to drink water recycled from sewage -- the first such scheme in the country and one of only a handful in the world.

The controversial proposal has divided the town of Toowoomba in the state of Queensland, which has faced water restrictions for a decade.
The most interesting aspect of this proposal is Toowoomba Toowoomba Toowoomba!
TOOWOOMBA!

Yar.

Toowoomba.

Well, according to the yellow pages, we got one church for about every 348 people. I don't think the ancient Aztecs of Lubbock made much of an impact. There was no water for sacrificial drownings.
