Misleading headline from the BBC

Minister slammed on napalm error

The Brits used napalm on somebody? Er, no. The Americans did, except that it wasn't really napalm. It was a Mark 77 Firebomb. And a bunch of British MP's are pissed off that someone told them the Americans weren't using 'em, except that everyone knew that they were. Or something. What does MP stand for, anyway? Besides Military Policeman.

And who came up with the name Mark 77 for a firebomb? I looked up Mark 7:7 in the Bible, but it doesn't say anything about a great bloody bomb that burns "dug-in troops, supply installations, wooden structures, and land convoys." (Link) They should probably call it the Revelation 1920 Firebomb. I would.

You mean were using bombs that might kill people in Fallujah?

Gee that's just horrible.

I would think using bayonet charges by British conscripts would be far more human-safe.

I wonder if our ally offered the use of this superior weapon?

Not just kill them, but melt them as well...

If only we could find a "religious fundamentalist" gene then we could create a gene therapy bomb.

A gout bomb would be pretty effective too in temporarily crippling all males in it's blast radius.

If we had such a gene therapy bomb, I'd drop one on the next Republican national convention, and then promptly re-register as a Republican.

Napalm? Pshaw. What if someone came after you with a .... banana?

Chaon said...

First thing I'd do, I'd give the banana a cool-sounding name, like 'Gabriel's Heavenly Maul'. Then I'd run away.
