PIL on American Bandstand. (Video) I saw PIL in '88 or '89, and Johnnie Lydon was not nearly as personable. Unless dropping one's pants and singing from one's anus counts as personable. I'm not sure. Highlight of the show was the line "Stop that fucking Sieg heiling you skinhead assholes!", followed by a free-for-all on anyone with a shaved head and wearing Docs. I wonder if they still have concerts at Janus Landing in St. Pete? It was a great venue.

Next weekend- April 21, Saturday

2nd Annual Soho Street Chili Cookoff
Starting time 2:00PM, ends around 8:00 or so.

There will be four live bands. Entrance fee is NT$200. All proceeds go to charity- the Christian Herald Orphanage. I don't know who the bands are, so don't blame me if they suck. I'm pretty sure that PJ playing the spoons does not count as a band, but Lance ("I like both kinds of music, country and western") is the organizer, so I wouldn't 100% rule it out.

If you want to make chili and enter the cookoff, notify Lance. If you are from Texas and therefore don't know how to make chili, there are many internet resources that can help you out. There will be no mixing of Axis & Allies and chili cooking this year, 'cause that's just a pain in the ass.
