Two quibbles- Technically not a fairy tale, as there are no supernatural elements involved.

Also, I'm fairly sure that Tina actually bought her knife from Jan, back in the eighties when everyone else was ostracizing Jan for the way he kept his apartment, and Tina was one of the few people who would talk to him back then. And Jan's place, while not all the way across town, was clearly in another neighborhood.
