Just got back from U.S., Chicago and Tiburon. Here are some thoughts:

What the hell happened to all the quarters in America? They’re all different, with stuff like boats and bears and crap on them.

I paid $6.00 for a pack of cigarettes in Chicago. Fascism, pure and simple. They’ll be stomping puppies next.

The AHMA Hardware show in Chicago was a complete bust. Mark my words: They will not even try to have another show next year. Maybe they can reconcile with Reed Exhibitions and get a piece of the Las Vegas show.

Good editorial from the Taipei Times

Jerome F. Keating, the author of my massive copy and paste on April 13th, has his own page: Jerome F. Keating's writings. It is bloglike, though more thoughtful and less sarcastic than I usually like my online media to be. Especially good is his recent article: A Lot of Sizzle but Little Steak: Media Miss the Point of Taiwan’s Elections
