Glad *that* weekend is over

Let's be clear about a couple of points. 1) There was no Axis & Allies game on Saturday. Because it was... raining. Yeah that's it, the game was rained out. So I could not have possibly lost a game that did not occur. 2) There was no chess last night. Because I was... at church all night, in preparation for the, the thing we had do at church. Eucharist preparation, I think it was. So I absolutely could not have lost every single game of chess at Salut, since I wasn't there.

Last Saturday night there was a South African party at FM. I went there after the Axis & Allies game that did not happen. There was South African music, South African food, and intoxicated South African people. Not a bad shindig, as parties go.

That is so sad. To lose while playing the wargaming equivalent of "Go Fish"...

I did not lose. Because there was no game. I spent all day Saturday lifting weights and running. And you would not believe the rolls those guys were getting.

Yeah, little plastic weights in the shape of artillery, tanks and soldiers...

Actually, Aaron and Malv played a great game. I don't think they had better than average rolls, but my rolls ssucccckkkked. But why am I talking like this? There was no Axis and Allies game on Saturday. Remember: we make reality, and you guys report it.

Here's what I'm playing later in the month.

Hmm...looks like heaven.

That looks like a fine game, but A & A is more suitable for Karl-type 'house rules':

1) Every time Japan buys a naval unit, drink a beer.

2) Every time the U.S. player complains about being too far from the action, drink a beer.

3) Drink a beer for every infantry unit Russia loses. Drink another beer if the infantry went down to German armor.

Yes, there are not many drinking games that fit a Mark Herman design.
