OK, it was politely pointed out last night that I should mention on the blog that I actually only quit smoking for 5 days. The recommencement of smoking coincided with, as you might expect, Friday night poker.

I have a request for information. Terry of La Terrasse made gumbo, from a recipe he found in a cookbook. His gumbo was roundly criticized for just about all the things you could criticize a gumbo for. His wife Sheila was so pissed off that they have dropped the gumbo idea entirely. I tried it and yeah, it sucked pretty bad.

So what I need is a good gumbo recipe. I could go Google something up, but I want something tried and true, that I can make first and try, then take to Terry and say this is what gumbo is supposed to be like. Throw something up in the comments, or E-mail me at chaonk@yahoo.com.
