How about dowsing for WMD's? That would seem to be a more pertinent technology. Maybe pyrokinesis. Instead of having to drop all these bombs on Falluja, pilots could fly over and just stare at the city real hard, burning it to the ground.

I think the USAF should spend a few million to answer my questions about how we're going to construct a ringworld. They could start with a small one- like a ring around the moon. Surely there would be some kind of kick-ass military applications of a lunar ring. And why don't we have a moon base yet?
