Why do elections suck? Let me count the ways: empty rhetoric, spin, clueless public, irritating candidates, the self-righteous blogs, the insipid pandering media... and let us not forget:
Moms for Kerry

Ugly-ass website. And they try to get me to click on some linked song because:
YOU WILL BE CHANGED.
YOU WILL WANT TO SHARE IT.
YOU WILL SING IT OVER AND OVER.
THE IMAGES WILL STICK IN YOUR MIND.
YOUR RESOLVE WILL BE STRONGER.
YOU WILL BE INSPIRED.

I don't WANT to be changed or inspired. And I've already got the question of free will and determinism stuck in my head today, so there is not room for much more.

Though I have to admit I like the implications in the huge banner:
100 MILLION MOTHERS - IMAGINE THE POSSIBILITIES

Yeah. MmmHmm. Let me just imagine the possibilities of 100 million mothers...
1 sandwich
1 beer
1 TV turned on
1 pack of smokes bought
and that leaves...
99,999,996 blowjobs
So I guess that's OK.

And of course on the other side we have: Security Moms for Bush

Go ahead. Look around the site. It initially looks much better designed than Moms for Kerry, but then I saw the comments section. And if that wasn't bad enough, I read some of the comments:
GWB is a rare individual. He is a man of great strength and high moral character. And he is man of true compassion. He reminds of King David in the Bible...a warrior and yet a man after God's own heart.

Really? King David? 'Cause he reminds me of Jerry Lewis.
