Is it true that you cannot add genetic material? That didn't sound too crazy. I just talked with an atheist biologist and he said roughly the same thing. We know that he cant be insane because he is an atheist like you. Frothing mad Christians (and even people who aren't named Christian) want to know.
Hey, I spent the best years of my life trying to add genetic material to any female that would hold still. Some of the females were even human.
Anyway, mutations can and do add information content to a genome. Gene duplication *literally* adds material by doubling a section of DNA that was already there.

Sure. But it is a mutation that doesn't pass easily to the following generations.
